Today's puzzler
Number of days my piece American Samizdat, which warns of the very real danger that the Telcos and Cable Companies will destroy the Internet, has been up @ Raw: 3
Number of days Melinda Barton's piece, The Left's Own Religious Whackjobs, which warns of the dangers posed by (certain) atheists, ran prior to being yanked: 2
Number of comments Ms. Barton's piece received: 325+.
Number of comments on my piece: 6
Please share your thoughts, else I will begin writing about the evils of extreme vegetarians and para-military biodiesel squads.

Re: Comments – remember the old, "…[w]e hold these truths to be self-evident…"?
Did you ever consider that you may be stating your case on an issue in such a competent, concise, accurate, and pleasing to read manner that many of your faithful readers (like me) may not be commenting from concern that they may not be up to the task of providing commentary compelling enough to supplement your thoughts? Or that they are just in such agreement they don't feel comments are necessary?
I can only speak for myself, but out of the thousands of blogs out there I faithfully read 22 blogs daily, amongst them is yours. You should be rightfully proud of your insights and talent at expressing them.
Never surrender!
This is just human nature in action, and, unfortunately, a fundamental principle of cable news: outrageous bullshit raises your profile. As in, I don't recall Tweety getting nearly as much attention as he did before he guzzled the koolaid and went off the deep end...
You are hobbled by your use of cogent, logic-based arguments. I have flashbacks (not the good kind) when I read right-wing blogs, particularly the komments. I think, "Can these people really be that insane in the ol' membrane? Or are they ratchetting up the crazy to be more 'interesting'?" Then the awful truth comes home to roost, same as it ever was: The cheese has really slid off their cracker. In any confrontation with a trash-talking lunatic, the lunatic will say the more memorable lines. Crazy-ass shit like "The Bible prohibits stem cell research!" Damned if I can find the mention of it anywhere in the bible, to me it seems full of stuff like "love thy enemy" and "the meek shall inherit the earth", etc.
But let a damp-pantsed nutjob read the same book and he'll swear up and down that it okays bombing and killing in Jeebus' name. How you gonna compete with that with pathetic sense and reality? Booooooring! Let's have a contest to come up with the weirdest rumor or outright lie that we can get mentioned on one of the nightly "news" broadcasts...... not for nefarious purposes, just for fun. Suggestions?
This blog is like a friendly little backwater you can pull the kayak into and take a break from the turbulent rapids of name-calling nit-picking can't -get- a- word-in -sideways vitriol that other blogs trade in. Let's invite some really crazed right wing trolls to come on in and spew away just for the entertainment value.
