Stage 3, coming up
TPMmuckraker and MediaMatters have been all over AP and John Solomon's handwringing attacks on Harry Reid. Nothing surprising there -- it is what the blogosphere has been doing for a several years now. But this one is different. AP is feeling the heat, and responded to both TPM and MediaMatters.
A year ago, that would have been unthinkable. Nothing that originated in our fever swamp could possibly have caught the attention of the royalty of journalism, let alone put them on the defensive.
Remember the words of Ghandi:
"First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win."
I think AP's latest move is a signal that we are now leaving the ridicule zone, and heading into the head-on.
