Harris says newspapers doctored photos to distort her makeup
And yet Ms. Harris seems distinctly ungrateful for the willingness of the press to Photoshop her pictures to remove her tin foil hat.
Florida congresswoman Katherine Harris, who is running for a U.S. Senate seat next year, blamed newspapers for contributing to her image problems, accusing some of doctoring photos to distort her makeup.
In an interview on a conservative radio talk show Monday, Harris said some newspapers - she didn't say which ones - altered photos of her during the 2000 presidential election recount when she was Florida secretary of state.
...
Harris, a Republican from Longboat Key near Sarasota, was asked Monday by nationally syndicated radio host Sean Hannity whether that image bothered her.
"I'm actually very sensitive about those things, and it's personally painful," Harris said. "You'd have to be a stone not to be moved by these things."
She continued: "But they're outrageously false, No. 1, and No. 2, you know, whenever they made fun of my makeup, it was because the newspapers colorized my photograph," she said, calling her image a "caricature" created during the recount.
And yet Ms. Harris seems distinctly ungrateful for the willingness of the press to Photoshop her pictures to remove her tin foil hat.
