This piece is more than a year old, but it ties together two of the biggest landmine stories out there: Valerie Plame and peak oil. Long and a bit convoluted, but important, and again timely. AMong other things, it explains why Plame was such an important asset to the CIA: she was deep inside ARAMCO, the Arab American Oil Company, which is in effect the oil arm of the Saudi government. That would have also put her in a position to know something about whether Saudi Arabia really has the reserves to increase production, as they claim.
