Whipped Mouse

Greenwald nails it.

But the image that I think we really ought to be pushing (and asking ABC about) is this one:

ABC could remedy its apparent omission from their shlockumentary by running Fahrenheit 9/11 right behind it.

Commercial free? I don't think the man behind the curtain will pay for this third night without some serious product placement concessions...

It's a bit more than a tempest in a tea pot, to be sure, but I still think that not just the MSM, but even the blogs are spending way too much time on this issue. It makes me wonder what we're missing while we spend so much time on this one.

Little things, you know, like Pakistan signing a peace agreement with the Taliban.

Or King George essentially admitting the other day that he broke the law with secret prisons and is asking Congress to retroactively make his actions legal.

I keep hearing him say we treat prisoners humanely, but I've yet to hear from any of the prisoners.

I betcha there's something else going on, too.

This schlockumentary is meaningless to you and me. But news junkies like us live in a world that most Americans are only dimly aware of. It is much like Plato's cave. And the shadows on the walls are cast by a television.

It matters. It shouldn't, but it does.
