Finally!
This is big. No more moral victories.
Lieberman isn't going quietly. But he is going. Actually, he's gone -- politically, he's dead man walking.
The blogosphere was only a part of the story -- the real story is that we are a part of a much larger movement -- what Kos is calling "people-powered politics." And that is a wave that has not even begun to crest.
Today says something very important about small "d" democracy. Primaries should be contested. Incumbents should run scared every time they run. The fact that Congressional recidivism puts the Politburo to shame is a national disgrace -- as is the power of the permanent class of remoras who consult to and report on those clowns.
Not today.
Hot damn.

But we're not done - e-mail, call, and/or write Harry Reid.
For years he's been a DINO. And the second he said (in his concession speech) that he is running as an independent, well, he's no longer a Democrat. He needs to be immediately stripped of his privileges and whatever committees he sits on.
And he really needs a good talking to. If he runs as an independent it will siphon off votes and we could lose the seat. Well, I mean technically it hasn't been ours anyway. So I guess I should say we will fail to pick up the seat.
Anyway - do it now, while you're feeling good. Tell Harry Reid how you feel.

This is great news.
I didn't realize what a relief it would be until this morning, when I heard Lieberman droning about his "independent Democrat" bid, announcing that he has become marginal even in Connecticut.
Now that the primary's over, the election doesn't have to be about Joe Lieberman.
So while his former Democratic friends decide whether to answer the phone and allow him to drag them down any further, let's take a deep breath of fresh air and focus on throwing the rest of the rascals out.
