Jamison Foser nails it

You think you already know. But it is worse than you think. A long but powerful indictment @Media Matters.

I agree that that's a big problem. But we shouldn't ignore the money in politics. Fully funded elections and media reform would be a powerful one-two punch towards improving our Democracy. But I don't think one without the other will have any affect.

Crap, affect or effect? Affect, I think.

You boys must really, REALLY love mental masturbation. Every single one, let me repeat that, every SINGLE one of the "new revelations", "columns" that "say something meaningful", etc., are just proof that the system doesn't need to be fixed, BECAUSE IT CAN'T BE FIXED!

How long will you keep being entranced (that's what I mean by mental masturbation) by these stale observations that were clear to people in the 60's? How does commenting on the obviously absurd advance the lot of humans? Hasn't done shit so far. Where is the model of previous success (of anything) to guide or inspire what you are doing? How is this "new" medium going to dissuade the guys with guns and money?

Sorry guys -- find a way to advocate violence that you can't be arrested for (like this diatribe). You're ostensibly smart. Use it or lose it. Find a way to coup the coup d'etat that has already taken place. Find a way to stop the damn ants from stinging you that meets whatever ethical considerations you might have against "taking life" (herbal ant spray?). But, goddammit, move! Do something! Stop "observing". I repeat, what is your "business plan" for success at this attempt to change the real world?

It's too late for dabbling in money, unless you want it to raise a real army (but we already know that won't work against these arrogant, powerful fools). So, don't bother with the money/politics question. It's obvious who has the money, who uses the money, who benefits from the money. There are no mysteries there. The only unanswered question is: what will YOU do that can make any REAL difference in the world?

If a picture is worth a thousand words, what are effective actions worth? Put down the pens, the paint brushes and pick up something threatening!
