So what

I read Al Gore's speech. I watched the clips on the web. I was moved.

But if a formerly wooden politician makes an important speech, and the press isn't there to hear it, does he make an effective sound?

Sadly, no. I don't know what it takes to have an impact today on the old media, but this is ridiculous.

This is a little encouraging - it was a featured item on AOL tonight. And I got to vote in an AOL poll. HEre's teh results:

Do you agree with Gore's comments about Bush's domestic spying?
Yes 49%
No 48%
I need to know more 3%

So, you know, with more press coverage, maybe we can swing that last 3% our way.

You'll have to excuse us--we're a little testy around here, and the hot internal debate in recent days has been Vancouver v. New Zealand.

The Gore speech headlined at for a while yesterday, too, and the Beard covered it as well, all for the good (the AOL poll is particularly encouraging, given AOL's status as ISP of choice for the lunatic fringe).

Where was this guy six years ago?
