Utah Woman Sells Forehead As Billboard

Just when you think you have heard it all, here is another unusual Ebay story -- this one with a close to home connection.

Kari Smith recently auctioned off a very visible part of her body, to be used as advertising space. And the prime piece of real estate in this case... is her forehead.

Smith decided to sell her forehead as ad space, in order to send her young son to private school. So she listed her forehead on Ebay, and it wasn't long before she had a winning bidder.GoldenPalace.com purchased the rights to Kari's forehead, and decided to have the company name tattooed there.

"We're always looking for ordinary people doing extraordinary things," said Jon Wolf of GoldenPalace.com. "And this is definitely an extraordinary thing that she's
doing."
...
By the way, the tattoo on Kari's head is permanent. The final price GoldenPalace paid for her forehead space: $10,000.It is believed that Kari is the first person ever to have a permanent tattoo scrawled on her head for the purpose of advertising.

Excellent move, ma'am. Perhaps that private school will try to teach your kid about dignity, integrity and self-respect -- things he sure as hell ain't gonna get at home.

And for those of you keeping score, somebody at Golden Palace has a serious eBay addiction, having already bought the infamous Virgin Mary on grilled cheese.

Good arguement for a living wage.
Too bad she didn't do the proper republican thing and cross the border to Nevada and go to work in a brothel.

And $10,000 pays for how many years in this private school?

That is some heavy black ink. That tattoo is not going to come off with removal, it will be there for the rest of this woman's life, long after her son is out of school.

If this type of thing becomes popular, look for a comeback in the popularity of headbands. Not to mention the rise of the "forehead wig".

I really really hate to make judgments based upon appearance, but ... just _look_ at the gleam of intelligence in those eyes!

This isnt the first forehead advertisement. Bumfights did the same thing, granted, that was on drunken bums foreheads for $50 and a bottle of Jack.

Do not be so quick to judge. She had her child's best interest in mind. Perhaps there was no other way to get the money. Native American quote: "Don't judge a man until you have walked a mile in his mocasins."

Unbelieveable! Yes, this child of hers needs a better education than his mother got, that's for sure. Sure hope he graduates!

These are all imitators of the first "Get ahead in the Ad Business" created by Ray Valine (in the late 60s, early 70's) - he (and his group of bald-headed advertisers [they did it painted - not tatooed on their pates) were featured on Real People and culminated his career on the Johnny Carson show with a between-guests auction of a corporrate logo painted on Ray's head on live tv.

Sorry - this one's not original at all.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes, that way when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

listen, assuming this money actually goes to her son's education, then what's wrong with what she did? obviously this is not a lack of smarts, quite the oppisite because she could've not given a crap about her son. All that said...I think she could've got way more than $10,000! I'd have gone for at least $50k!
