Half an O. Henry story

From the AP:
Despite the heat wave that pushed energy use to an all-time high this week, experts say Governor Schwarzenegger probably does not have to fear the blackouts that ended former Governor Davis' political career.

And he has Davis to thank for that.

The long-term contracts Davis signed, at great political cost, guarantee plentiful energy for the next few years at what now look like good rates.

Davis was recalled from office in 2003 partly because of the energy crisis.

The other half, were this an O. Henry story, would involve Schwartzenegger sacricifing something of value in return, or paying a price for failing to do so.

O. Henry, of course, wrote fiction.

I’ll not mince words we are coming down the straight. We need your financial and resource support for our progressive “equality and economics first” US Senate campaign.

My friends call me “Chief” my close friends call me “Billy” - either one is fine. I was injured at the scene of a house fire on December 1, 2004 and as a result suffered a permanent spinal cord injury (Spastic Paralysis).

This is a life-changing event for me, like many Americans we go along with our everyday ordinary lives until that unpredictable day arrives. Rehabilitation on a daily basis is hard work, with hard work comes great results.

I am a volunteer with the Carl Sheeler for US Senate (D-RI) campaign; Carl is a marine veteran of the gulf war who has a strong connection with every day Americans – a blend of Paul Wellstone and Russ Feingold. His strong stances on developing alternative energy solutions; cutting middle class taxes while reforming millionaire and big corporate taxes; funding the NO child left behind (NCLB) federal mandates to alleviate the tax burden on property owners; and demanding single payer, national healthcare for all Americans and calling for “social and economic equality” are what makes his campaign connect with most Americans regardless of party affiliation.

Carl is a fiscally, responsible, progressive Democrat, the real deal, a working Senator, the peoples’ voice – a voice for all Americans. Many call Carl’s “of, for and by the people”, a 70’s style democrat referring to his likeability and “building bridges, not walls” views. His Be Patriotic Impeach Bush with a backdrop of our Constitution and Fund OUR Future Not BU$H’s War billboards along I-95 in Providence across from the “Big Blue Bug” speak for themselves. To see Carl’s site and to look at the billboards go to

This is a campaign for the people, kids and our seniors. I personally experienced a life-changing event, now America is facing a series of life-changing events for all Americans. Carl Sheeler, Rhode Island, our children and America all need your help. The US Senate seat in Rhode Island is a seat that needs a bright working Senator. A Senator who will stand up and fight for Rhode Island! A US Senator that will make Rhode Island and us proud.

News and press releases

The Sheldon Whitehouse campaign has stated “he has no primary opponent or a primary at all” this is not true. Sheldon is currently lying about an opponent so why would I think his thinking in Washington or that he would represent us fairly and honestly in Washington.

Sheldon has stated “the party is the most important thing” and “unity in the party should come before all else”. Sheldon what happened to the American people and our constitution? My parents instilled in myself and my 9 brothers and sisters that family, faith and flag (our constitution) should be above all else!

Now is the time for all of Americas to unite together so we can make a real change in America and take back our country. Help with America’s rehabilitation share this message with your family and friends. Remember a US senator affects all our lives regardless, which state they come from.

Thank you in advance for considering a contribution to Carl Sheeler for US Senate. or
