Nice. Real Nice.

Ridgefield GOP Web site showed Democratic women as hags, Republicans as beautiful

The women are young and beautiful. They are Republicans. The ugly ones are Democrats. No one was laughing when the town's Republican Town Committee linked its Web site to an Internet jokester who portrayed famous GOP women as supermodels and Democrats as hags.

In fact, A.J. Di Mattia, Republican candidate for first selectman, ordered the images off the party's site after complaints flooded in, including one from Democratic Town Committee Chairwoman Susan Cocco.

The image shows seven women members of the national Democratic Party in unflattering facial shots. Above it are the words "Oh God!!! Take me back to the Republican women .Ÿ.Ÿ. Fast!" The link flips to an image of seven attractive women members of the national Republican party, including actress Bo Derek.

The Web page seems to originate at the site of radio commentator Neal Boortz.

Cocco complained the site "demonizes women such as Janet Reno, Madeline Albright and Helen Thomas as ugly and distasteful, then compares them with idealized beauty shots of Bo Derek and Anne Coulter. I can't say which is worse – portraying Republican women as plastic dolls or Democratic women as witches."

Di Mattia distanced himself from the site.
Alex Karsanidi, acting chairman of the Republican Town Committee, came closest to defending the images.

"This is a political cartoon," Karsanidi said. "If Susan Cocco or anyone else finds it offensive or has a problem with it, don't go to the site."

How sophisticated. Meanwhile, Josh Marshall tells us about how political operatives in Wisconsin use their political suck with guys like Abramof to get tickets to professional wrestling.
Politics is supposed to be like high school, with money? Try grade school.

Mr. Karsanidi's comments are wholly inappropriate and are clearly indicative of a person, who is a mysogynist. Mr. Karsanidi does not even have the savvy to give a politically correct answer to a very sticky situation.
Instead of resolving the issue, he has thrown the proverbial fuel into the fire.
Is this who the Republican party wants to respresent them in the town of Ridgefield?
It is clear that most people now think of Mr. Karsanidi as a buffoon.
Let's hope that the only reason Mr. Karsanidi has the job of acting chairman of the party is that he defaulted into it, as no one else would step upto the plate.
I am desperatly hoping that the party wakes up and sents Mr. Karsanidi back to where he came from. Apparently a world where there are no women, and people speak their poison without thinking.

It doesnt surprise me that Alexander Karsanidi would make a comment like this.
I have heard him make many racial slurs, particularly against blacks and Jews, so the fact that he is a "woman hater" also goes hand in hand with the furor that is in his low life soul. Further, his wife has repeatedly used the "N" word in general conversation.
As a resident of this town, I find it disheartening, that the low lives are rising to the top.
I will no longer associate myself with the Republican party because of Mr. Karsandidi.

actually I personally know Alex Karsanidi and frankly he is no better than trailer trash.
What does it say about our town that this lowlife racist has risen to a position of semi prominence? It doesnt say alot for the town of Ridgefield.

I cannot believe I am reading this.
I worked for this creep, and everything everyone has said is true.
This guy is a total loser, and he also dresses and looks like a homeless person.
The wife is beyond moronic, and the son is a bigger racist.
Wake up Ridgefield.
